A wedding candy station! What a sweet idea!
As a unique and playful alternative to traditional wedding favors, or even wedding cakes, some couples are choosing to incorporate a candy station into their reception plans. Creating a treat bar can be done with little effort and cost. Wedding candy stations are becoming more and more popular with each passing wedding season and can be created easily by using bulk candies and a collection of different sized jars, urns and bowls. The display of candy filled containers is then situated in the reception hall and is kept easily accessible by all of the wedding guests.
Many couples feel that a candy station is a great way to reinforce their wedding colors or themes. For example, a Valentines Day wedding could use a display of sweet heart candies such as cinnamon hearts, mini sugar message hearts or even heart shaped truffles or chocolates. Christmas, Easter or Halloween themes could also be integrated into a wedding candy station by using popular seasonal sweets.
There is also the option of using personalized candies, such as custom-ordered M&Ms, custom wrapped mini chocolate bars or even custom-made truffles bearing the couple’s initials!
When planning to use a candy station it is important for the bride and groom to first check with their reception hall representative regarding the location and set-up. Some wedding venues will have a limited number of tables to use and will advise a couple to rent additional materials for the candy table.
There may also be regulations regarding all food products being wrapped and served using tongs. If this is the case, many bulk candy suppliers carry a variety of serving tongs or scoops which can be bought for a reasonable price and used for the self-serve sweets.
A wedding candy station is an easy way to add personality, nostalgia, fun and color to any wedding reception. So scoop up some sweets and enjoy!
