DIY Instructions
What You’ll Need:
Glass Jar, 2 cups of water, 4 cups of sugar, wooden lollipop stick, optional food coloring and flavoring
Make sure that the glass container that you will be using is clean. Otherwise, sterilize it by submerging them in a hot water for several minutes. Firstly, pour 2 cups of water in a saucepan and let it boil under the stove. But before reaching its boiling point, add 4 cups of sugar gradually while mixing it consistently. Make sure that sugar crystals are completely dissolved before pouring another part of it. You can also add few drops of food coloring to it. If you choose to put some flavoring, you can add it also.
Use a clean lollipop stick cut to the size slightly taller than the jar, wet it a little and roll it in granulated sugar. With the use of a string, attach the popsicle stick to the pencil and place the pencil across the glass jar while the stick is hanging inside the container to be covered with sugar mixture. Do not let the stick touch the bottom. Put some allowance in it. After some days, you will be noticing that crystals are starting to develop. It needs a full week for the rock to form. Now you have your very own rock candy sticks to enjoy.
