Decorate Your Guests Tables with Boxes for Wedding Favors

When you’re using small or mixed wedding favors, especially edible ones like candy or cookies, it’s best to find some boxes for wedding favors that either go with your wedding theme or they’re undecorated so you can dress them up to coordinate with or accent your reception décor.

Different types of favors call for different types of boxes and fortunately there are a variety of boxes to choose from.  So if you’re giving cupcakes or cookies for favors, you can look for little square or round boxes.  Triangular shaped boxes are ideal for your guests to take home pieces of wedding cake.

For a mix of cookies, nuts and candy, or even small plants, Chinese food takeout boxes can be dressed up as wedding favor containers and they’ll look nice set around the tables too.

If you’re planning on using place card holders for assigned seating during the reception, you can find or make cute little favor boxes shaped wedding chairs and use them as place card or name card holders for the tables as well as favors.

Colors and Themes Come In a Variety of Colors and Events

Manufacturers and designers in the wedding industry are always adding new colors and flavors for couples to choose from for their wedding themes.  Every year something new arrives on the scene and wedding favors are no exception.

You can still buy boxes for your wedding favors in solid colors or in plain white and then add ribbon, wrapping paper, tulle or organza to the boxes to add your wedding colors to them.  Or you can add little decorative trinkets to the boxes if you’re planning your wedding around a holiday or event.  For example, if you’re having a Christmas wedding, you can attach a miniature tree ornament to the tag of box, or a vibrant leaf to depict the autumn season for a fall wedding.

Homemade Personalized Boxes for Wedding Favors

If you’re crafty or you can simply cut and trace, you can make your own boxes.  If you find a box the size you need, you can take it apart then trace it out on a fresh piece of posterboard or card stock.

Depending on the strength you need for the box, and depending on what you’ll be putting in it, you can choose from heavy card stock or even cardboard.  For lighter favors, like mixed candies or small cookies, card stock should do the trick.  Decorate the outside with decals or wrapping paper, then cut, score and fold it into place.

To save time, once you have your boxes ready, you can fill them ahead of time.  If you’re giving candy or cookies, you may want to wrap them securely in a cellophane wrapper before putting them in the boxes so they stay fresh for your wedding day.
